Thyroid Awareness Art
Allyson Jones Averell's facepainting of a butterfly and gladiolus flower, done January 2010 in honor of Thyroid Awareness Month
Thyroid patient and talented artist Allyson Jones Averell did this extraordinary facepainting on herself. The painting features a butterfly -- a common symbol used to signify the thyroid gland -- along with gladiolus flowers . The gladiolus stands for strength of character.
Ally did this painting in January 2010, to honor Thyroid Awareness Month.
